All pieces are painted on acid-free watercolor paper. I use Cotman Winsor & Newton watercolors and Noodler’s Ink.
Prices below are for the painting alone, matting and framing is not included.
Matting your commission is highly recommended! If your painting touches glass directly, moisture can accumulate and potentially ruin your painting. Matting insures that the painting will have enough room to “breathe”, plus it enhances and compliments your painting.
All prices below are for a painting of a single pet.
5″ x 7″ : $125.00
8″ x 10″ : $200.00
11″ x 14″ : $300.00
Other sizing is available by request. Please email any special instructions or questions to email@example.com
10% of the total sale is donated to organizations that work to improve our world and the lives of animals. I picked these four organizations based on their missions and their Charity Navigator ratings. Please visit their websites and help support their missions: Natural Resources Defense Council, Humane Society International, WIldAid, & Oceana.
Email at least 4 high resolution photographs of your pet(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org. The more photographs I have to work from, the better.
Images need to be sharp and taken in good lighting. Images taken in natural light (like outside) work best, especially if your pet has dark coloring. If possible, try to send photos of your pet looking toward the camera. Take a look at the example photos below to get an idea of what I consider a good reference photo.
If I receive images that are too dark, too blurry, or from awkward angles, I will request more pictures. If the commission is a gift and you can’t access photos without spoiling the surprise, I offer gift certificates.
If you want any embellishments that help compliment your pet’s personality (such as plants/flowers, biscuits, tennis balls, mice, etc.) please specify them in the email along with your reference photos and sizing preference. Currently, embellishments are free!
Here are examples of well-lit, sharp reference photos:
Thank you so much for considering a commissioned pet portrait! I hope to hear from you!
